Since August 2026, I have been travelling overland. Istanbul is part of that journey and my photographic work. I work personally and directly, from the first conversation to selecting your photographs.

I’m Dominic Köhler. Photographer, web developer and content creator. On the road, I look for direct contact with people, their work and the places that shape them. That attention becomes photographs, films and digital experiences with a clear perspective.

The person behind Eastlens.
I photograph, develop websites and work on independent brands. My days connect these tasks: making photographs outside, selecting material and building something people can use.
On the road since 13 August 2026
I travel overland with my partner and our dog, without flying or a camper. Istanbul is part of that journey and a place where new photographic stories develop.
Photography and film
I photograph with a Canon EOS R50. I also use Insta360 and iPhone for film sequences. The camera is a tool; the encounter, light and selection matter more.
Independent brands and products
Casualstoff, KlarKonflikt, GRID.EUROPE, SOTTO are my own projects. Their purposes and development stages differ. The projects section explains what I am working on in each.
Working directly together
You discuss your plans with me. We agree scope, use and delivery before starting. Photography, writing and a website can be developed together when your project calls for it.

I pay attention. Then I build.
A photograph can reveal a person. A website can explain their work. A brand can hold both together. This connection is what interests me, from our first conversation to something people actually use.
Close enough to notice.
Portraits, work stories and short films come from meeting people in their surroundings. Selection is planned with its later use in mind: a story, a website or an ongoing content series.

I use applied AI for research, planning, development and workflows. The result needs to be understandable, testable and useful. Documentary photographs retain their integrity.
